The Advisory Board

The Advisory Board of Nextgen Clearing has extensive experience at all levels within the key areas - Finance, Banking, Telecommunications, Marketing and Legal.

Peter Carpenter (Finance and Accounting) was a founding investor in, and Commercial Director of, Celtel International, a company holding mobile operator licenses in 14 African countries, which was purchased by MTC Kuwait in 2005 for $3.4 billion. In 1996, Peter was Group Finance Director of Mobile Systems International when General Atlantic Partners took a 20 per cent stake in the company at a valuation of £175 million. The company was subsequently purchased by Marconi in 2000 for $900 million. Peter was also Commercial Director of Mercury One2One (now T-mobile UK), Director of Business Planning for BT Mobile and Finance Director of Cellnet (now 02).

Mike Sheehy (Foreign Exchange and Banking). Mike’s trading career has in the main focused on foreign exchange trading. His experience includes market making to bank clients, brokers and the wider “interbank market”, and has worked at the Bank of Nova Scotia, Toronto and as Head of Foreign Exchange Options and Proprietary Trading at Banque Brussels Lambert, London. Prior to Banque Brussels, Mike was Director, Barclays Capital, responsible for FX Proprietary Trading.

Ronnie Preiskel (Legal & Company Secretary) is a co-founder of the London law firm of Preiskel & Co LLP, who's IT and E-commerce Group he heads. He has over 16 years’ experience working in the telecoms, mobile and internet sectors, in a wide variety of roles, including advisor on competition, regulatory and commercial matters for BT. Ronnie was part of the BT team working on the auction of 3G Licences and also worked in business development for the BT Internet Division. Ronnie is an INSEAD MBA.

Nick Marsh (Corporate Finance) has spent 14 years as a Corporate Financier based in the City of London. He has worked with both growth companies and those of medium capitalisation as well as private equity houses on a broad range of deals, varying from mergers and acquisitions to debt financing and capital raising. During his City career he has worked for Arbuthnot Securities, Société Générale and Hambros Bank.

Malcolm Heeley was previously at Hutchison 3G UK since inception, and spearheaded the selection and implementation process for Data and Financial Clearing for the Hutchison Group spanning the UK, Austria, Italy, Sweden, Denmark and Australia. Prior to outsourcing, Malcolm had direct responsibility for performing the Financial Clearing process for Hutchison and has a true understanding of the challenges of performing in-house clearing. Having worked in the GSM mobile sector since 1993, Malcolm is a veteran of growing businesses, and worked with Richard Branson in the early days of the Virgin Group. A member of the founding Nextgen Management Team since autumn 2007, in addition to his work for Nextgen Malcolm now provides consultancy services to mobile operators. Malcolm is a Cranfield MBA.

Patrick Bodnar Prior to joining Neustar Inc as VP of Russia and CIS Patrick was founding partner of ADB & Associates Ltd, a Washington DC consulting firm specialising in technical assistance to international lending institutions and the US Agency for International Development. His experience in business development and sales in the telecom sector helped Iridium LLC to access the market in Central Asia Countries, BSG Clearing to get long term contracts in Russia and CIS, a WiMAX equipment manufacturer to establish distribution channels, and various telecom companies to achieve revenue and market access goals in EMEA.

Barnaby Wynter (Marketing) was founder of The Comms Unit, a successful advertising agency with many household names amongst its customer list. His unique marketing approach "The Brand Bucket" has been responsible for the success of many companies.
